Very nice people, lovely home, very clean, very quiet, comfortable bed, great view from the house. It's quite a long way from Elko, however, and the last two miles of the dirt road were difficult for my low clearance Prius -- scraped my front bumper several times despite very careful driving.

I am looking forward to meeting Shannon--couldn't quite make the trip, but I plan to stay in this beautiful location and unique house soon. What can i add that hasn't already been said? After a bumpy drive over a dirt road the home came into view.

This is not only very worthy of being a stop on your travels but a destination as well. The wild turkey is nice to just sit sip some wine and watch.

The hosts are open and friendly. I got their book and can't wait to read it when i return home. Now about the road up. It is a dirt road badly in need of grading, however, my Hyundai Elantra made it up SLOWLY with no problem and no damage so it isn't impassable for regular cars. If you have a lowered vehicle or if the weather is very wet i would reconsider.

I am eagerly waiting for any excuse to travel that way again for a stay longer than just one night. I give this listing my wholehearted recommendation. My advice to others; don't fret the road if you get a chance you must stay here. We had a great time with Rob and Shannon! They were very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed talking to them.

Their house is spacious and clean and has a beautiful view over the valley. They offered us to help ourselves in the kitchen whenever we're hungry which was very kind. It was a great experience staying with them. We just returned from our annual road trip and have been reminiscing and reviewing our experiences, one of which was our stay with Shannon and Rob their Peaceful Straw Bale Retreat. We booked with them a year ago and it lured us back. After the second time around we have concluded this could be an annual tradition Thank you Shannon and Rob!

It was a long haul up the drive, but it was so worth it. The house was beautiful, and we were lucky to get to stay there. Shannon sent us detailed directions and her husband cooked us breakfast in the morning. There was an amazing view which made for a great morning. The place was a wonderful respite from our road trip.

There was plenty of space for us to relax and unwind after a long day of travel. The beds were comfortable, and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful space and even more amazing people. It is an usually great place to stay. The view of the mountains right at the backyard and the ease drive to enjoy the wonderful canyon from the house certainly are worth the few more miles of driving from the interstate highway. What a wonderful stay!

Waking up to that view of the mountains was amazing. Great value for what you get. I would love to come back! This is an exceptional find. I love the outdoors so the pictures of the Ruby Mountains drew me in and honestly - truly the space and scenery is far more amazing than pictures can do justice. Sue was extremely prompt in communication and also was kind enough to leave the lights on when we were delayed in arriving. Our space was connected to their main home but felt totally secluded and special.

The bed was extremely comfortable. So much charm and attention to hospitality details. The morning was gorgeous and we had an array of cute animal friends to pet and entertain us. Thank you for everything, Sue! I hope we can stay longer next time. Sue and Ken were wonderful hosts and the place is truly an amazing getaway. Sue was wonderful in giving advice about the local area as well as providing some delicious, freshly picked tomatoes and carrots!

Just what we needed! My girlfriend and I were on a trek to break the Guinness world record for longest road trip in one country and the two day stay with Janice and cowboy John fully recuperated us!

This place was a lot of fun. It's secluded but a short drive from town, and it's a quiet spot with plenty of character. The Hendrix coasters and Dylan painting were nice touches among the rustic cowboy decor. Janice and John are great hosts whether you're here for the rodeo or just stop in town to experience The Star.

Easily one of my favorite AirBnbs that I've stayed at and I say that not due to any luxury design or extravagant get-away. I say it due to John and Janice, two amazing human beings, to their unique and well decorated home on the range, and to the beautiful scenery near by.

John and Janice are two of the kindest, most earnest, and sincere AirBnb hosts you will ever meet. They had great nearby recommendations, interesting history on the area, and a perfect spot for resting and reflecting. I only had a one night stay due to a roadtrip I was on but sure wish I could've stayed longer! A great spot for photographers, thinkers, relaxers, and explorers alike! Cannot recommend this place enough!

John and Janice were great hosts. Lots to see and do. The home made scones for breakfast were a welcome touch. This is a great place to stay. All the comforts of home at a great price! You have to check out Lamoille Canyon! The king size bed is amazing. Never slept so good! This was short but lovely stay. Both host are awesome. We would definitely stay there again.

We highly recommend this place. Thank you so much for the great hospitality. Janice and John were very nice and stayed up late to welcome us to the house. They even brought their cowboy hats so that my nephew and niece could take a pic on the saddles.

I was driving through Elko on my way to California and this was the perfect place for me and my family to stay. Our overnight stay at the cowboy bunkhouse was wonderful. Janice and John are very considerate hosts who extend warm hospitality. Their home is perfectly placed at the base of the Ruby Mountains.

We wish we had more days to explore Spring Creek and the Ruby Mountains! Conveniently located, this house is lovely. The bedroom is very roomy and tastefully decorated and has a positive vibe. There is a stocked bookshelf with many classics. It made us want to stay for a week just to read! The bathroom is large with modern fixtures including granite. And there is a modern deep soaking tub with a shower. The hosts are very welcoming. They are friendly, but respectful.

Very nice hosts and the stay is socomfortable at their home! The room is very clean and tidy! We had a wonderful communication and the hosts are very friendly and thoughtful! They treat us like friends so make us feel at home! Hannah's home was beautifully decorated, clean, welcoming and quiet. She was a great host - very accommodating and excellent at communicating the details of the stay. Had restful overnight stay in Elko at Hanna's place.

Was clean, comfortable and conveniently located. I was only there for a short bit, but the bed was comfortable and hosts were friendly.
